Public Service Leadership Scotland is the new national event for leaders who wish to improve their leadership skills; managers aspiring to be leaders; & individuals responsible for leadership development within their organisation.

Via a main Plenary & 12 'breakout' conference sessions, delegates have the opportunity to network with & learn from their peers in a wide range of public service organisations & from the cream of leadership 'solution' providers & advisers.

WHO ORGANISES PUBLIC SERVICE LEADERSHIP SCOTLAND?

Public Service Leadership Scotland is organised by Public Service Partnership, working in association with key 'stakeholder' organisations across public service.

These include The Scottish Government, Scottish Leadership Foundation, Society Of Local Authority Chief Executives, NHSScotland, Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland & the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations.

The agenda & themes for Public Service Leadership have been formulated in consultation with senior representatives of these & other appropriate organisations.

WHO WILL BE SPEAKING AT PUBLIC SERVICE LEADERSHIP SCOTLAND?

The event kicks off with a 105-minute Plenary session, setting the scene for the day's activities.

The Plenary - chaired by Zoë Van Zwanenberg, Chief Executive of the Scottish Leadership Foundation - will feature presentations from:

1: Keith Yates OBE, Chief Executive of Stirling Council, & formerly Chair of SOLACE Scotland – The Society Of Local Authority Chief Executives & Senior Managers;

2: Derek Casey, Director of Glasgow's successful bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games & Interim Chief Executive of the Organising Committee for the Games;

3: Mo Dockrell - Managing Director : Three Dee;

4: Gillian Thompson, The Accountant In Bankruptcy & Agency Chief Executive of Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB), an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government's Justice Department (Gillian was a Leadership award finalist in the 2007 Business Awards for Scotland): &

5: Dr Judith McClure CBE, Convenor of SELMAS, the Scottish Educational Leadership, Management and Administration Society; a member of the Scottish Government Education Department advisory group on Continuing Professional Development and on Leadership; & Headteacher of St. George’s School, Edinburgh.

Public Service Leadership Scotland then continues with 12 one-hour 'breakout' sessions (delegates may choose to attend a maximum of three of these sessions).
