Public Service Leadership 2009

Strong Leadership In Uncertain Times

Placeholder

Monday 18th May 2009 - QEII Conference Centre, Westminster

Not for a good number of years has there been such an uncertain economic climate. Growing fears about recession, the credit crunch, economic downturn, employment uncertainty...these are all pressing issues which affect today's leaders; no more so than in public services. It is during these difficult times that strong leadership can play an immense part in maintaining morale and ensuring productivity isn't compromised.

Today's public service workers also find themselves centre stage in the reforming and transforming of public services, which naturally produces new and challenging issues for senior managers. Central to this is the requirement to work together in strategic partnerships, collaborating with other organisations and exchanging expertise, knowledge and data. All this needs careful and expert leadership.

Now in its fifth year, Public Service Leadership is the pre-eminent event in this fast-changing subject, bringing together the leading thinkers, policy makers and practitioners in this field. The conference will focus less on the theory and more on the realities and practicalities that affect all leaders, and aspiring leaders, across public services.
