Due to the success of last year's conference, this Public Sector Property & Estates Scotland conference is moving to a bigger venue.
This year we will be at the SECC Glasgow on the 28th of November 2007 .The conference will again be run in association with The Scottish Government.
These are exciting times for Scotland. The pace of change has seldom been greater!
The management of public sector assets is typically the second highest expenditure of public sector bodies after employee costs.Thus effective management of the property portfolio is key to meeting The Scottish Government's efficiency and service delivery targets. It is certain that the emphasis on efficiency in Government will continue to place major importance on the role of the property asset manager.
There will be an ongoing need to encourage best practice throughout the government estate and to achieve best value on all capital projects.
An increased focus on customer-centric and co-located service delivery will create changes in the office accommodation required. and require imaginative solutions.
Additionally the Stern Review on climate change has introduced new challenges on the sustainability & carbon footprint of the entire public sector estate.
This conference will be the focal point for all those involved in managing the public sector estate in Scotland and will address a wide range of key strategic & practical issues.
At this stage the agenda and speaker programme are being developed through discussion with key players from the public and private sectors across Scotland,
