Keith Jones & Andrew Howarth will examine the nature of the two activities, contrast their skill sets & examine how the skills for asset management can be honed & improved. They will consider whether there is sufficient resource devoted to strategic asset management in organisations & examine the nature of the resource needed. This will be an interactive session, with delegates invited to share their experiences of skills & resource issues in their organisation in response to the presentation.

Michael will share perspectives on the challenges and opportunties of the coomunity assets agenda. Martin will talk about Lewisham's approach; objectives and decision-making. Elizabeth with brief on the lessons emerging from the CLG demonstration progamme, Advancing Assets. A DTA-led partnership is currently working with 36 local authorities across England.
