Public Service People Management 2005
Glasgow SECC 1st / 2nd Feb 2005
The inaugural PSPM Expo Scotland (SECC Glasgow / 18-19 February 2004) brought together some 650 officials & trade union members from across Scotland's public service organisations.
Conference delegates (responsible for a wide range of disciplines, including personnel, administration, leadership, training, organisational change & development, project management, business planning etc) heard a series of 'good practice' presentations & debated their role in the future agenda for public services in Scotland.
Delegates responded with great interest & enthusiasm to an event, dedicated to their interests, where they could also network with new & old colleagues from across the public service 'divide', & at the same time, learn more about potential solution providers from the public & private sectors.
By incorporating fresh ideas & suggestions from delegates an even bigger & better PSPM Expo is planned for 2005.
PSPM Expo Scotland is again organised by Public Service Partnership Ltd, working in association with the Scottish Executive, COSLA, NHS Scotland, Trade Unions & other stakeholder organisations delivering Scotland's public services.
The agenda for the 2004 & 2005 events was established following extensive research – undertaken by PSP Ltd – amongst 'grass roots' human resources & people management staff within public service organisations across Scotland.
Issues raised were then addressed & developed in meetings with members of the Stakeholder Panel, comprising key representatives of the organisations listed above (amongst many others).
For the 2005 PSPM Expo Scotland, the comprehensive conference programme is addressed across five streams:
- Managing Change: The People Factor
- Partnering For Success
- Positively Diverse: Enriching Organisations
- Public Service: The Employer of Choice
- Innovation: The Fear Factor
PSPM Expo Scotland also features a series of special seminars, under the overall banner of: Employment Law: Readdressing Rules & Reality
