What Is PSPM All About?

Our public service employer organisations face an uncertain future.

While internally meeting the continual challenges of change, modernisation & reform, they must also respond to immense external pressures - from politicians, taxpayers & the media - to improve the quality & availability of public services.

To deliver these improvements in productivity & customer focus, public service organisations must harness the resources of their greatest asset - their people.

How can they work out how to do this?

Taking on board the adage that ‘everyone is smarter than anyone’, PSPM provides an annual opportunity for management professionals from public service organisations to come together to:

  • Contribute to the ongoing debate about the many common people management challenges facing public service provider organisations;
  • Hear about the latest 'good practice' case studies & initiatives making a difference to the public service people management agenda across Central Government, Local Government, the NHS, Police, Fire, Universities, Colleges, the Voluntary / Community Sectors & within private-sector public service provider organisations;
  • Network with other 'like-minded' individuals from across the public service spectrum;
  • Meet & exchange ideas with potential solution provider organisations from across the public, private & voluntary sectors.

Who Is PSPM For?

PSPM aims to be relevant to everyone with people management responsibilities - whether they be a senior executive; policy-maker; HR practitioner; or line manager (EG: Chief Executives were joined at PSPM 2006 by Directors Of Business; Change Management; Communications: Corporate Services; Diversity; Employee Services; Equality; Housing; Human Resources; Leadership Development; Learning; Organisational Development; Performance; Personnel; Policy; Professional Development; Project Management; Property; Recruitment; Retention; Service Improvement; Skills; Staff Development; Strategy; Training; & Workforce Development)
