I am writing to invite you to join me at the new and combined High Performing Property (HPP) and Relocation Conference entitled:
Working Space – Moving To a Leaner Greener Government Estate
This major Office of Government Commerce event, organised in conjunction with Public Service Partnership, will be held at the QEII Conference Centre, London SW1, 9th July 2008.
High Performing Property is the five year strategy for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the management and use of the government estate, and for achieving a more sustainable estate. Benefits from the programme are estimated to be worth between £1bn-1.5bn per annum by April 2013 on an estate that costs around £6bn a year to run. Savings will arise from a reduction in overall space required, better space utilisation and better procurement of FM services and property leases.
To date, OGC estates division has held five very successful separate conferences (three Government Relocation conferences and two Asset Management conferences). This conference will, for the first time, bring together the High Performing Property programme and the Relocation programme to focus on illustrating progress on overall property asset management improvement through real-life implementation examples.
The Conference comes at the point where much of the foundation structures and tools for HPP are in place, including mandated use of property benchmarking and standards for efficient workspace use. Looking ahead to the new vision, the emphasis must be on making it all work to create a transformed, smaller and sustainable estate by employing the tools and implementing the standards to deliver transformation.
The Conference is also intended to host the launch of the ‘State of the Estate’ Report and the new Working Without Walls publication, ‘Working Beyond Walls’. These will set out the current position of the government estate and identity and exemplify new working practices that will help achieve the vision.
I hope you can see from the attached outline agenda that the conference is a must attend event for anyone who is involved with Relocation, Change Management, Property Asset Management, Sustainability and Efficiency.
